January 12, 2015 (VMPR) Lake Zurich, Il.— Midwest Motors recently celebrated its grand re-opening,
after a fire in the spring of 2014 temporarily displaced the high-end car dealership located in the heart of Lake
Zurich Illinois.

The blaze occurred on March 24, 2014 on the second floor of the 30,000 square foot showroom,
customer lounge and detail center on Cortland Drive and Route 22 – just west of Rand Road. The
expansive structure was previously occupied by Capaccio Brothers Furniture, before the business
closed in the summer of 2012.

Though no one was injured and none of the vehicles sustained damage resulting from the fire,
building repairs were estimated at upwards of $100,000. With some help from Village Hall, Midwest
Motors was able to relocate for sever- al months to Lake Zurich’s industrial park to keep the
business running.

“I am extremely thankful to Mayor Tom Poynton and the Village of Lake Zurich for their quick
response to the fire, and the outpouring of help and compassion from the community,” said Benjamin
Ripstein, owner of Midwest Motors.

Within a week of the fire, the business was operating out of a temporary location at 570 Oakwood
Road while the location underwent extensive repairs. Midwest Motors was able to move back into the
newly remodeled building in late 2014.

“We have weathered quite the storm and are ready to begin the New Year with our best foot forward,”
Ripstein said. A Buffalo Grove native and BGHS graduate, Ripstein founded Midwest Motors in 2009,
which is an outgrowth of his passion for rare, high-end vehicles, along with his meticulous attention to detail.

Ripstein’s love for cars began with a fixer-upper Chevy Cavalier given to him by his grandmother,
when he was just 16-years-old. His very first instinct was to make sure the vehicle was perfectly maintained, from
detailing it by hand to ensuring it was as mechanically sound as possible.

Since then, Ripstein has owned more than 40 vehicles, ranging from Volkswagen Jetta’s, to Dodge
Vipers , Porsche Cayenne’s and many others. Though the cars change, one thing remains the same—his
attention to detail and his desire to provide the highest quality vehicles for his clientele. He
travels the country to view private collections and attend highline auctions to hand choose the
rarest and most exotic automobiles available on the market.

Among his Lake Zurich community involvements are being a sponsor of the downtown Rock the Block
event, The Lake Zurich Car Show, and serving on the advisory board for the Lake Zurich Young Entrepreneurs
Academy (YEA)

Ripstein also is making his location, which can accommodate up to 250 people, available free of
charge to area non-profit organizations to host fundraising events. To learn more, contact Events with Style at
