First Responders Challenge/Family Fun Day Coming to Chicago Suburbs September 2014
Chicago and suburban area first responders (police and firefighters) will battle it out through an obstacle course challenge amid a day of family-friendly activities in Fishel Park, Downers Grove on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Charity beneficiaries of the event are the 100 Club of DuPage County and 100 Club of Chicago, serving Cook County.
August 5, 2014 (VMPR) – Downers Grove, IL. The 1st annual First Responders Challenge/Family Fun Day will be jointly presented by Palatine, Illinois-based Vicarious Productions, Inc. and Prospect Creators, Inc. of Cary, Illinois on Saturday, September 13, 2014 near downtown Downers Grove in Fishel Park.
The main event will be the obstacle course challenge, held between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., where Chicago and suburban first responders (police and firefighters) will compete through a challenging six-station course. Among the stations are a team relay, tire flip, hose run, strength and endurance circuit, stretcher run and tug o’ war. The top three placing teams will receive trophies, prizes, and of course, bragging rights until next year.
The entire day, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. will be chock-full of family-friendly activities, including an inflatable bounce house, a face painter, caricature artist, live music from Chicagoland rock band The Belvederes, wood-building set giveaways (for the first 300 children) from Home Depot and canine demonstrations. Food and refreshments will be provided (for purchase) by Downers Grove-based catering company, Skuddlebutts.
Also part of this exciting inaugural event will be a business showcase, to include more than a dozen area businesses showcasing their wares and services, while providing demonstrations, special offers and giveaways.
Admission to the First Responders Challenge/Family Fun Day is FREE and open to the public and all individuals who attend the event will receive a chance to win a TRIP FOR 4 TO CANCUN, provided by Travalati and one of two IPAD MINI’s, courtesy of Platinum Sponsor, Country Financial.
The First Responders Challenge/Family Fun Day will benefit two non-profit organizations; the 100 Club of DuPage County and 100 Club of Chicago (Cook County), both of which support the families of police and firemen killed in the line of duty. This event was created to highlight the unwavering, serious commitment first responders make to protect the public at-large; in the privacy of their own homes, at work, and within their communities.
