  Got Skills on the Grill? Compete in C.A.T.I.F.’s Rib & Chicken Cook-Off!               

     Local charity C.A.T.I.F. hosting its 4th annual Block Party/Cook-Off  fundraiser  to benefit the Palatine Opportunity Center.

August 5, 2014 (VMPR) – Palatine, Il. If you’ve got skills when it comes to grilling, Palatine-based charity C.A.T.I.F. [Celebrating All That Is Feminine] invites you to compete in their upcoming Rib & Chicken Cook-Off to be held in downtown Palatine as part of their 4th annual Block Party celebration. The rib or chicken dish voted the best will win a $250 cash prize!

In addition to the cook-off, a wide variety family-friendly events and activities offered will include a bouncy house, dunk tank, kid games and entertainment and live performances from the band ‘Unconstitutional’ with an appearance by ‘Bag O Jammers’. Admission to the Block Party is free and open to the public.

Sponsorship opportunities are currently available until August 23. During its three previous years, this family-friendly event has attracted hundreds of attendees to sample competitors rib or chicken dishes, enjoy live music, and all the entertainment options available during this end-of-summer celebration/fundraiser.

The charity beneficiary is Palatine Opportunity Center, a non-profit that assists in-need Palatine residents by connecting them with resources to create a pathway for integration and success.

C.A.T.I.F. raises funds during two large events each year; the February Pay it Forward event and the September Block Party-Family Picnic Rib & Chicken Cook-Off. The organizations funds established non-profit organizations in the Chicagoland area whose mission mirrors that of C.A.T.I.F.’s; to support, empower and encourage women and children experiencing crisis.

Stop by between noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 14 on Station Street in front of Lamplighter Inn Tavern and Grille and enjoy some fun for the whole family!
