canstockphoto0223773The Paint the Town Green Parade ad festivities will be held today (Saturday, March 15, 2014) throughout downtown Palatine.

This is not only a celebration of all things Irish, but of the start of spring! It’s been a rough winter for all of us, and the temperatures will be [relatively] warm – anything above 35 degrees is like a whiff of warmer temperatures in our book!

So get on out and enjoy the festivities: The Irish market will be held from 8 a.m  until 1 p.m. under the tent in front of Durty Nellie’s – visit local businesses showcasing their wares and services. The parade begins at 11 a.m. at Oak and Wood streets and then head west on Wood to Brockway and finally south on Brockway towards Wilson Street.

To learn more about vendors at the market, parade participants and other fantastic events throughout the day, visit the Paint the Town Green website. Journeys the Road Home also has a WISH LIST of items you can bring to help support this organization that works to end homelessness.

An Irish blessing for a Friend:

Wishing you a rainbow, for sunlight after showers. Miles and miles of Irish smiles for golden happy hours. Shamrocks at your doorway for luck and laughter too, and a host of friends that never ends each day your whole life through.
